Ven. Weragoda Sarada Maha Thero

Founder , Chief Monk, Chief Administrator. Singapore Buddhist Meditation Centre.

Ven. Weragoda Sarada Maha Thero

Ven. Sarada Maha Thero was born in Sri Lanka in 1941, in a devout-Buddhist family.  He was ordained a Buddhist monk in 1953, when he was just 12.  He pursued his higher education at the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura, Sri Lanka.  He obtained his First Degree in 1964. He was Principal, Indurupathvila University College 1967-1969. He was Principal Sudhramarama University college.  He dedicated himself fully and with missionary zeal to the spreading of the Word of the Buddha, world-wide.

He began his service in this field in Penang, Malaysia.  There he was Principal Mahindarama Sunday Pali school until 1979.  In that year he came over to Singapore and founded the Singapore Buddhist Meditation Centre (SBMC).  This centre has always been supported by a highly dynamic and devoted group of devotees from Singapore.

Ven. Weragoda Sarada Maha Thero, pioneered the founding of the American ? Sri Lanka Buddhist Association of which he is still the Director.  In addition he is the current General Secretary of Japan-Sri Lanka Buddhist Centre, of which he was the founder-President.  He is the Chief Incumbent monk of Jayanthi Viharaya, Sri Lanka.

His unique publications programme is distinguished by a whole series of records.  His monumental work ?Treasury of Truth - Illustrated Dhammapada? is unparalleled for more than 2000 telephone calls it elicited just in one day.  This must undoubtedly be a world record in the field of Buddhist publications. Today, he has more than 185 titles to his credit.  His works appear in Sinhala, Japanese. Korean, Chinese and  English. He has moved on to electronic media, to present the Buddha - word to the world.  Though his work ?Treasury of Truth- Illustrated Dhammapada? is his current magnum opus, his greatest is yet to come.  It is the ?Illustrated Jataka Tales? with a thousand especially commissioned illustrations to adorn the book and support the text.

Blessed with an unusual imagination, Ven. Weragoda Sarada Maha Thero is positively future-oriented.  His motto is to spread the word of the Buddha ?for the good of the many ? for the well-being of the many.?

The GM size is quite heavy. I would rec. agenda de bureau (desk)It is sleek and classy looking and not as heavy, you can slide any pad in and don't have to worry about finding the right refill if you don't want to bother with LV refills.I have mini ag. and my husband has GM in epi (he hardly uses it)Keep us posted! louis vuitton luggage bag

You are so nice Enjoy your new bag. The LV forum rocks! vuitton bags

My alligator Motard Biker bag makes my heart sing. It is quilted gray leather, trimmed with alligator handles and straps in golden yellow. (I look at that bag and say wow!) I also love my new Empreinte Lumineuse GM tote in Ombre. (That bag is so practical with all the zipper and pockets.) The bag that gets the most compliments is my Louis Vuitton L Surya in Cerise. (The Surya looks amazing in the sunlight.) rolex the daytona

Of these two, I prefer the Speedy 30. It just has a better presence to me; the Neverfull PM just seems too small. IMO But of course, I have no idea how tall your mom is. LOL Good luck in your decision. I think you will know when you get there and see them both. vuitton bags
